2020年12月19日（土）にサンリオピューロランドでお披露目される、ゼロイチファミリアの新ユニットの名称発表とTwitterアカウントの開設が当初の発表通り2020年11月17日（火）に行われた。

ゼロイチファミリア 新ユニットが2020年12月19日にデビュー決定

発表された新ユニット名は『#2i2』。コンセプトは『アンドロイドをコンセプトとして結成されるもメンバーが反発。「なにかに支配され人々がまるでアンドロイドの様に生きる世界でこの瞬間だけは”人間”らしくありたい」』というもの。

開設されたTwitterアカウントではロゴも公開。ロボットをモチーフに頭に『#』、両目に『2』、鼻が『i』となっており、合わせることで新ユニット名となる。

また、ティザー動画も公開され、メンバーが5名というのが確認できる。

先輩グループの#ババババンビの公式Twitterも#2i2のメンバーが5名であることを明らかにしている。

今後、#2i2は2020年11月26日（木）にメンバー発表、2020年12月3日（木）グループビジュアル写真が公開される。
