活動休止中のmai maiがメンバーの安藤汐音・石井優希・くしなあゆのグループ卒業及び所属事務所からの円満退社を2022年11月21日（月）公式Twitterアカウントで発表。

3名の卒業に伴いmai maiは解散となる。

mai mai公式Twitterアカウントの発表には3名が卒業に至った理由などは言及してないが、メンバー及び応援をしたファンに対して感謝の言葉が述べられている。

mai maiが2022年6月19日（日）に渋谷近未来会館で行う主催公演『mai mai現体制終了ライブ』をもって、現体制活動終了を公式Twitterアカウントで発表した。

これに伴い、現メンバーも2022年6月19日（日）のライブをもってmai maiでの活動を終了する。

公式Twitterアカウントの発表では、現体制活動終了に至った理由などについては言及していない。

また、メンバーの今後の活動については「現体制終了後に改めて各所協議を重ねご報告させて頂きます」としており、既に発表されている2022年6月19日（日）以降のライブ出演はキャンセルとなり、チケット購入者には代金相当の特典券を渡すとしている。
